RADIO STATIONS ACROSS the country will simultaneously play a song in tribute to the late broadcaster Tony Fenton this afternoon.
Fenton passed away last Thursday at the age of 53, after a long battle with cancer. Everyone from Dustin the Turkey to Ronan Keating paid tribute to the DJ, in a huge outpouring of love from the Irish music and broadcasting communities.
A number of radio stations, including Today FM and 2FM, will play Aretha Franklin’s I Say A Little Prayer at 2.30pm today in memory of the late broadcaster.
Fenton worked at 2FM for 18 years, becoming one of the nation’s most popular DJs, before moving over to Today FM in 2003.

The gesture comes after last Friday’s Late Late Show featured no mention of, or tribute to Fenton, an omission that surprised many.
When contacted by DailyEdge.ie, a spokesperson said RTÉ had no comment to make on the issue.
